To give concrete expression to its positioning as a humanly and socially responsible investor, and to materialize its "value" of solidarity, SOFIOUEST has created an endowment fund enabling a portion of capital gains to be distributed to associations or philanthropic causes.
" SOFIOUEST's teams are committed to supporting entrepreneurs with projects that have a social, societal or environmental impact. Helping to finance associations that share our humanist values by redistributing a share of our value creation is a natural extension of this commitment ," says Patrice Hutin, SOFIOUEST's Managing Director.
SOFIOUEST SOLIDARITE: four targeted areas of intervention
Launched last March, SOFIOUEST SOLIDARITE has chosen to focus on four areas of intervention:
- Support the independence and freedom of the press through media education and the dissemination of media knowledge, as well as critical examination of media content and economics;
- Accompany communities and regions by supporting employment and training, particularly for those who are far from it (people in economic or social difficulty or victims of discrimination);
- Supporting "living together" from the commune to the world for the benefit of the most disadvantaged, the most vulnerable, victims of disasters or oppressed minorities;
- Protecting the environment and the climate.
Three associations supported in 2022
In 2022, SOFIOUEST SOLIDARITE is supporting three associations with which it has identified specific actions and projects in order to accompany them financially over several years :
- CODEPHENIX(www.codephenix.fr) trains prisoners in digital programming to facilitate their professional reintegration on release from prison and reduce the rate of recidivism. After a 6-month training course, learners master the languages needed to work as web integrators and gain initial professional experience by working on real projects from their place of detention. Since 2019, three classes and 20 learners have been trained in coding at the Melun detention center (77) and the Saint-Martin-de-Ré prison (17).
SOFIOUEST SOLIDARITE will support CODEPHENIX in the development of a new training program to be delivered at the women's prison in Rennes (35);
- ENTOURAGE(www.entourage.social) gives excluded and isolated people the support networks they need, to bounce back and enable them to regain their place in society. Founded in 2012, the association is multiplying its initiatives to meet the challenge of reintegrating people in precarious situations, including the launch in 2019 of the Linkedout network to complete its network through digital...
SOFIOUEST SOLIDARITE will support the territorial deployment of the ENTOURAGE network in Brittany, in particular in Fougères, Redon, Vitré and St-Malo, to complete its area of intervention currently concentrated on Rennes;
- OUEST-FRANCE SOLIDARITE(www.ouestfrance-solidarite.org) was founded in 1981 with the aim of helping people in difficulty (famine, war, persecution, natural disasters, pandemics, etc.) throughout the world by financing humanitarian actions. Major projects are financed mainly by donations from Ouest-France readers.
SOFIOUEST SOLIDARITE will focus its financial support on projects that are harder to attract the attention of donors, those "forgotten" projects run by OUEST-FRANCE SOLIDARITE whose impact is nonetheless crucial for the populations that will benefit from them.
